Empowering One Artisan At A Time

Welcome to Local Women's Handicrafts (LWH)—a fair trade, Eco-conscious collective of women artisans dedicated to creating unique fashion and home decor with purpose. LWH embodies the mission of providing a living wage, economic empowerment, and education for artisans who have overcome exploitation and hardship.

Through responsible fashion and sustainable trade, we stand with the Empowerment Collective in the mission to end forced labor and modern slavery. Every purchase directly supports survivor-led initiatives that drive change in global supply chains and create a future where artisans thrive in dignity and independence.

Join us in transforming lives—one handmade piece at a time.

  • Empowerment

we believe in survivor leadership and true empowerment by providing artisans with the tools, resources, and opportunities to thrive. This includes fair wages, sustainable practices, and a strong support system to ensure their craft leads to lasting economic independence.

  • Sustainability

We protect handicraft sustainability by ensuring traditional craftsmanship thrives while safeguarding artisans and the environment. Through fair wages, ethical production, and sustainable practices, we empower artisans to preserve their heritage, strengthen communities, and create a future free from exploitation and modern slavery.

  • Eco-Conscious

Environmentally friendly fashion is our movement to reduce the industry's negative impact on the environment. We achieve this by sourcing sustainable materials, reducing waste, upcycling, recycling, and ensuring transparency in the supply chain to promote ethical and sustainable production practices.

  • Preserving local handicrafts

Preserving local handicrafts is crucial for cultural heritage and economic sustainability. We support traditional techniques, designs, and stories by partnering with diverse artisans to blend heritage and innovation, ensuring that craftsmanship thrives while empowering communities and sustaining artisanal traditions for future generations.

Upcycled Collection

Fashion is one of the most polluting industries in the world. We are buying and consuming more products than ever before in human history. We aim to prove that conscious consumption is possible by repurposing scrap materials into beautiful, handcrafted products.

Using centuries-old techniques and recycled fabrics, we contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry, preserving traditions while reducing waste.

Hemp Collection

Hemp grows wild in Nepal, free of chemicals and nurtured by natural resources. By using locally available materials, we support the local economy while promoting harmony with nature.

Hemp fiber is strong, durable, and highly sustainable. We grow, harvest, and weave it locally using centuries-old techniques, all done by hand. The raw fiber is spun into yarn and woven into fabric on non-electric looms. We hand-dye materials using chemical-free dyes, ensuring a truly eco-friendly process.
